Earth and Environmental Sciences (EES) is a part of natural science that studies the structure and functioning of the atmosphere, hydrosphere, and geosphere to improve understanding of the integrated Earth System. Owing to the complexity of the Earth System, EES often pursues collaborative multidisciplinary research with physics, chemistry, biology, environmental engineering, and resource engineering. We also offer master's and doctorate degree programs in graduate school for the students with greater expectations for advanced studies.
The Major program of Earth and Environmental Science strives for a multidisciplinary integrative basic science by adopting physical, chemical, biological, mathematical, Statistical and computer science approaches. The program provides interested students with opportunities to learn earth's environmental systems, including hazard earth process, energy and natural resources, environmental geology, atmospheric chemistry and climate system. The competent students, upon completion of the major program, can move on to gain practical experiences with more advanced studies in the area and prepare for scientific research career.
